Our Process

Most new client engagements require in-person meetings to establish a relationship of trust, and to ensure all of the relevant information and documents are gathered. Before we make recommendations to a client, we believe in being thorough. This is the first step before we undertake planning, recommendations, or negotiations on behalf of a client.

After gathering data and facts, we clarify the laws that might apply to the situation. Sometimes, that means deep research to ensure that we work with the right statutes and regulations, case law, or published commentary that may relate to your circumstances. Good planning entails reviewing all the options as well as their risks/rewards. Our clients make the final decision, of course; and our role is to ensure that they have the best information and recommendations in hand to do it well and to do it with confidence.

Once the client agrees to a plan of action, we then draft needed documents and begin the required actions to implement that plan. Perhaps the plan calls for estate planning documents, or a meeting with the IRS; perhaps closing a real estate transaction, or negotiating a prenuptial agreement; maybe completing a tax return or helping to negotiate the sale of a family business. Richard K. Morley & Associates, Ltd. has the experience to execute on behalf of our clients.

Service does not end with an engagement's conclusion. We continually update clients regarding changes in laws and regulations that could affect their situations. For example, major changes in estate tax laws are commonplace. When those occur, we contact you to ensure your plans remain updated and take advantage of those changes.
